Adobe Systems Inc. last week said it will soon quash a bug in Flash that has been used for more than a month by attackers to poison Macintosh and Windows users’ clipboards with URLs to malicious sites.
The changes will be rolled out in Flash 10, which Adobe security program manager David Lenoe said would be released “soon.” A release candidate for Flash 10, however, that includes the patch can be downloaded now.

BEIJING, (AFP) - - Nearly 53,000 children in China have been sickened by milk powder contaminated by an industrial chemical, the government said Monday, dramatically ramping up its previous figures.
A total of 52,857 children had been brought to hospitals after falling ill, an official in the health ministry spokesman’s office told AFP.

Samsung Electronics entered the netbook market on Friday, announcing a lightweight mini-laptop with a 10.2-inch screen called the NC10.
The new netbook by the South Korean electronics giant shows how popular netbooks have become since their commercial introduction late last year. The devices have caught on because they offer people a low-cost, portable way to wirelessly access the Web.

Yahoo is hosting about 300 developers at its Open Hack 2008 event this weekend, encouraging them to build applications on top of the company’s products.
The event is being held at Yahoo’s Sunnyvale, Calif., offices. Developers in attendance can write little programs, called “hacks,” said Christopher Yeh, head of the Yahoo Developer Network. “There’s this concept of a hack, and [what] we call a hack internally here at Yahoo is a clever or ingenious way that you put together a program that demonstrates something useful and fun,” he said.
